Mick Croft – IT programmes
Mick Croft is a 45–year–old lorry driver from Doncaster in South Yorkshire. Mick has a keen interest in computers and all things technical and in his spare time he enjoys building and repairing computers and mobile phones.
Mick came across vision2learn on a website forum and was keen to enrol for a free course to add some qualifications to his CV. Mick has never looked back and has now completed three vision2learn IT programmes.
He said: "I had no qualifications to support my passion for computers. I would love to start a career in computers and this way I have some qualifications to show."
Mick enjoyed being able to learn from home, at his own pace, whenever he liked. He said:
"I enjoyed everything about these courses and best of all there were no teachers throwing lumps of chalk at you for chewing!"
Mick has also picked up a few new skills to add to his CV. He said:
"I have filled in some gaps in my knowledge, for example, I’d never built a web page before I started the vision2learn courses."
Mick is really enthusiastic about the benefits of online learning and has even helped friends to sign up for vision2learn courses. He commented:
"I would recommend online learning to anyone and have already got two neighbours involved in doing their own vision2learn courses, as they are so easy to set up and get started."
If Mick came across any problems whilst completing his courses, he could contact his online tutor for help at any time. He added:
"If I needed help, my online tutor was fantastic – she even took the time to call me to explain where I was going wrong."
Mick goes to show that it’s possible to learn new skills and add new qualifications to your CV no matter what your current profession is.
