Ben James – IT programmes

Twenty–four year–old Ben James from Halifax was interested in improving his job prospects with the eventual aim of working in an office-based role. After searching on the Internet for free online courses he came across vision2learn. Ben told us:

"I was keen to try online learning because I have a young family and this way I could work when it was convenient for me. I also chose vision2learn because they had a great range of courses and they were all free!"

Ben signed up for a vision2learn intermediate level IT course. He hopes that his new IT qualification will help him to gain employment using computers.

As well as learning lots of new IT skills and gaining a qualification, Ben really enjoyed the experience of learning online. He explained:

"I enjoyed learning online, as I could pick and choose my hours of work. Also, I preferred it to classroom learning as I was able to get on with my work and I could study at my own pace. Sometimes I struggle to take in a lot of information in one go."
"I would definitely recommend online learning with vision2learn. It’s so convenient that you can learn new skills and still have time to spend with your family."

Ben admitted that he found some aspects of the course quite challenging but, with help from his vision2learn tutor, he was able to work through it. He told us:

"My tutor was brilliant. Every time I needed some help or advice, he was there to support me. He gave me some great feedback and it really helped when I was struggling with some sections of the course."

Ben has already expressed an interest in completing a second course with vision2learn. He told us:

"You can never learn too much and I’m really looking forward to completing my second course with vision2learn!"
